World-renowned consultants in the krill industry. Extensive experience in South Antarctic Krill fishery (Euphausia superba). The most experienced and independent professional team works for each marine and high-sea fishing project. This team has provided its services and support to Japanese, Russian, Ukrainian, Chilean, Norwegian, Korean, Polish and USA companies, among other krill operations, having directly and indirectly contributed in all of them.

1.Trawlers’ on-board factory processing engineering

Work done on-board fishing vessels with Tharos’ own engineering team and Tharos’ proprietary models related to on-board processing principles, laboratory work and written working manuals. Consulting work includes on-board factory layout definition and set-up support.  Processing engineering consulting has included, among others:

1. Ready-to-eat frozen meats.
2. Phospholipids-rich krill and other marine oils.
3. Phospholipids-rich krill meal.
4. Feed & food-grade krill meal.
5. Canned krill meat.
6. Feed/food-grade whole frozen krill.
7. Krill solubles and hydrolyzate.

First group to put together on-board Western and former USSR krill-processing technology. This service includes onshore processing and reprocessing definition and on-site support.

2.Product development

In-house as well as in association with world-known research centers. From this association, several end-products have been developed, such as but not limited to;

1. Low-fluoride aqua-grade dried krill meal.
2. Food-grade frozen krill meats.
3. On board-processed Pharmaceutical-grade krill oil.
4. Dietary supplement-grade krill Hydrolyzates (peptide – solubles).
5. Low-fluoride stick-water and krill meals.
6. Food-grade solubles and concentrates.

3.Research and Development

1. Consulted EU authorities in their red meal’s Fluorine levels criteria on red meal imports (2000ppm on krill meals as per Commission Directive 2003/100/EC of 31 October 2003). Research and Development included PCB’s and Heavy Metals, supporting EU & USA authorities on red meals assurance level criteria on heavy metals.
2. Consulted EU feed-industry ingredient suppliers and organizations such EFAPIT (European Federation of Animal Protein Importers) and IFFO (International Fish Meal and Fish Oil Organization) on krill-related matters.
3. In association with international-recognized R&D institutes Tharos has developed new technological capabilities that have been used on several krill projects with the support from Russian VNIRO (Russian Federal Research Institute of Fishery and Oceanography), KamchatNIRO, SakhNIRO, AtlantNIRO, former Russian State Fisheries Department and Ukrainian R&D State Organizations.

4.Sales and marketing

Using Tharos’ extended customer base, Tharos grants its services on:

1. Direct sales and distribution through extended Tharos’ customer base.
2. On marketing tasks, work on shows and fairs concepts and booth definitions as well as participation on each of them if required.
3. Written and WEB-based marketing material preparation.

5.Business Plans and Financial Analysis

Business plan elaboration in accordance to real market situations, market trends as well as each corporation long-term working target.  Includes financial analysis in line with company goals and Tharos’ vast experience on processing and marketing, all in relation to the real fishery potential.  Projects have been developed on-site as well as co-authored with respected universities and other research centers.

6.Logistical and operational support

Within South Atlantic and Pacific area, at-sea and on-shore operational support, including:

1. Bunkering and cargo transshipment.
2. On-shore meal bulk-transshipment.
