How Weather Phenomena (eg. “ La Niña ”) Alter Market Prices Estimates
Mr. Dimitri Sclabos K. May 2004 - September 2005

Abstract
Weather phenomena (eg. “ La Niña ”) do affect feed ingredient market price estimate formulations although not necessarily showing a direct relationship, but also subject to a set of other factors such as their direct competitive products and the extent (depth) of the econometrical formulation used.

Natural Foods through marine Krill Meal
Clean Human-Grade products based on clean feed ingredients
Mr. Dimitri Sclabos and Mr. Raul Toro-August 21 2003

Abstract
South Antarctic Krill Meal has unique nutritional and quality attributes. Formulator’s krill meal acceptance is supported on its good protein content, its strong palatability effect, natural beta-carotene content [in the form of astaxanthine], its excellent lipids & minerals profile and its chitin & chitosan constituent and negligible amount of dioxins, PCB’s and heavy metals.

Antarctic Krill [Euphausia superba, Dana]
A different class feed ingredient-Heavy Metals’ case
By Mr. Dimitri Sclabos & Mr. Raul Toro-June 18th, 2003

Abstract
The new EU import restriction [Directive 2002/32/EC of May 7th 2002] related to undesirable substances in animal feeds imposes a 500ppm Fluorine max level on feeding stuffs of animal origin intended for animal feed. Krill meal’s high Fluorine content is found in safe natural organic form. It also shows a remarkable low content of heavy metals and Dioxins, closely related to the unpolluted waters where it is captured and processed being well within the limit established by the EU. This feature give the fish feed manufacturer a bigger safety margin, particularly if some of the other fish meals and oil feed ingredients used are closer to the limit.

Fluorine in Antarctic Krill meal
Dimitri Sclabos K.- May 30th, 2003

Abstract
As per Directive 2002/32/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of May 7th 2002, related to undesirable substances in animal feed, a 500ppm Fluorine max level is being imposed by the EU on feeding stuffs of animal origin intended for animal feed from August 1st 2003 onwards. South Antarctic Krill shell (Euphausia superba, Dana), has a high natural organic fluorine content in the range of 1000-3000 ppm, being fluorine involved in the synthesis of bones and scales.

The Krill-Short History
Dimitri Sclabos & Raul Toro-March 6th, 2003

Abstract
Antarctic Krill (Euphausia suberba, Dana) is one of the least exploited marine resources, while it is also the most abundant. There are three distinct lines of Krill products, not necessarily present in the market nowadays. The Aquaculture Feed product line consists of Krill meal and Krill oil. The Food product line mainly consists of Frozen Krill tail meat plus Krill protein concentrate (powder) and Krill hydrolyzed soluble. Pharma grade krill products are not yet marketed.
